Well hello there and welcome to my teacher blog and classroom!

My name is Erin, I’m a 2nd-grade teacher in Colorado.  I have been teaching for 6 years now (sheesh already) and I just had to count on my fingers to make sure that was right-haha.  I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade in those 6 years.  I have spent most of that time in 2nd-grade and that is where my heart is!

In 2015, I decided to start my teacher social media adventure.  I started following mostly 2nd-grade teachers and realized there was a huge network of teachers that had the same passion and excitement for teaching that I had.  I hid behind my phone/computer watching thinking I had nothing to share.  I noticed a lot of the things that were being shared were similar to the things that I was doing in my classroom. So why not share what I am doing??  It was difficult finding the perfect name for teacher self and brand.  I knew that I was moving from 2nd grade to 3rd grade and did not want to have a specific grade level in my brand, so I decided on Happy Little Teacher.  I felt like that fit me and my teaching style.  I love all things bright and colorful in my classroom that make students and myself HAPPY! So I become the Happy Little Teacher.

Soon after deciding my name, I created an Instagram account, because that seemed like the easiest to use and to share ideas and it was what I was using to follow my favorite teachers.  Then I started to create products to sell on Teachers Pay Teachers.  I loved creating materials for my students to use, so why not make them cute and share them with other teachers?!?  I also had a blog created for me and I used it once or twice, but I wasn’t a big fan of the design and I wasn’t proud of it.  I didn’t use it even though I wanted to share more ideas with you all!

Last summer, I grew my brand to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and created more resources.  Still, I felt like I wanted a blog to share out more of my ideas, so that is where you are right now.  On my new, beautiful blog that I am oh so proud of.  It only took me like 16+ hours to get it lookin’ this good.  Struggle! (I am no website creator)  But I am a firm believer in not giving up and I strive for progress, not perfection! (insert inspirational quote here :))

So welcome and thank you so much for taking the time from your busy teacher life to visit my little blog!

With lots of Love,
